the thing about evangelizing firefox is that there's a lot of talk about making sure the web isn't just chrome and keeping the web open, which is good and important, but also we lose sight of telling people about functionality that chrome doesn't have like:

  • did you know that firefox lets you hold shift while right-clicking to prevent websites from hijacking the context menu

  • did you know that if you hold ctrl while clicking on table cells that firefox will let you copy the contents as a formatted table? This means if you want to copy a bunch of data formatted in a table, but only want to copy one column, you can do that whereas in chromium based browsers you can only select the text and have to copy every cell and lose formatting?

and shift lets you highlight a part of it, then shift-click to highlight to where you clicked. Holding alt lets you get around that thing where sometimes firefox will have your cursor grab a block of text instead of highlighting it, like parts of github.
