funnily enough, the answer is yes and no.
i can't immediately recall any fake anti-piracy stuff getting added during the time that was a fad. that's not to say it didn't happen, but if it did, it wasn't interesting enough for me to remember it.
what did happen was that the relevant page... mario party, i think? was protected/locked just in case, because that particular one took off and the idea was to just be prepared.
now, that turned into another whole thing. the gist of it is "wow, people are trying to put these fake anti-piracy things on tcrf and it got so bad that they had to start protecting pages" ... which is the exact inverse of what happened. but, in the absence of saying anything explicitly about it...
running a community and site like this is a really fascinating look at both how what you say about something matters and how what you don't say about things matters. the ability for people to misunderstand actions or words without a shred of malice is incredible.
