Agent Intel

Area of Operations: Pacific Northwest (general) Van Island, BC (specific)
Designation: Covert Operations - Infiltration, Extraction, Espionage, and Sabotage
Superpowers: Polymorphic Physiology - Morgan's entire body is made of viscous grey-black matter that behaves as a shapeless semifluid when resting at room temperature. In theory, Morgan can alter any property of their mass in any way they can envision, including impersonating other living things. Additionally, the iron and carbon content in Morgan's mass gives them very limited electrokinetic properties.
Modifications: RCGs converted to Ocular Implants. Entire biological mass has been converted to a C-Dot infused ferrofluid.
Threat assessment: Extreme - Morgan's unique physiology makes them a significant threat at range, and almost impossible to subdue in melee combat. Their capacity for mimicry and shape-shifting makes them nearly impossible to locate and/or capture.

Biographical Information

Personality: To civilians, Godhunter is an urban legend; a ghost. A spectre that slinks its way into high level offices of government and corporate boardrooms to disappear the assets of abusive authority figures... and sometimes the figures themselves.

To capes, Morgan is that annoying blob of grey grease that refuses to stay down or stay put. There isn't anything solid in them to hit with your fists, and they're liable to simply absorb anything you throw or fire at them.

But to the people that actually know them, Morgan is that friend who would give you the shirt off of their back if you needed it... and if Morgan still wore shirts. To borrow a cloying phrase, Morgan's 'love language' is acts of service - they have a hard time verbally communicating their emotions towards others, but will happily and eagerly bend over backwards to do something for you. Indeed, for all the wit and bravado Morgan hurls at the PHL and other capes, they sometimes have a hard time articulating words at all. They're actually quite awkward around people they enjoy the company of, if only because they feel safe enough to BE awkward. But, for reasons involving past traumas, Morgan also has a hard time opening up to new acquaintances.

Background: Morgan was born male, the middle child of three to Marilyn and Daryl Forsythe. Morgan never really got on with his emotionally cold father, and was rather glad to see the back of him when he divorced his mother in 1995. This did, however, leave his family rather poor for much of their life. This proves to be a significant problem that escalates with each passing year, as Morgan is diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome (later reclassified as Autistic Spectrum Disorder) at age ten while living in Pickering. Therapy options and medications prove to be too expensive for the struggling single mother of three and, as the most 'normal' (i.e. passing for neurotypical) of the three, was left to be the latchkey minder of his less able siblings.

Things get worse for Morgan around the age of 14, when his mother finally lands a proper career job in rural Manitoba. Morgan retains very few memories of the seven years they spent there, but what they do remember is unpleasant. Most of it seems to relate to Morgan's penchant for growing their hair out at that age, and associating more with the female and 'queer' student body over his more typically masculine peers.

In 2006, Morgan formally drops out of high school, having been skipping more classes than attending at that point, between the failures stemming from their evolving neurodivergence and the violent harassment resulting from their escalating 'queerness'. In what they would later call a gross over-correction, Morgan moves in with their estranged father for a year, and finds this to be an even worse prospect than rural Manitoba, as the only conversations they seem to have involve how much money Morgan's upkeep costs.

A year later, Morgan is forced to move back in with their mother, figuratively thrown out of the house by their father over a matter of $1500, already repaid. Morgan's wanderlust mother now lives in rural Newfoundland, and urges them to go back to school.

Morgan does so, and after two and a half years of knuckle-down effort, manages to acquire a high-school equivalency certificate. More importantly, each and every one of their instructors makes a note of Morgan's profound intelligence and aptitude for self-guided learning, in direct contradiction of years of report card memos reading 'needs to apply themselves'. High off the success of their graduation, Morgan re-enrols for a trade certificate at the same college - Industrial Electrical Trades, specifically.

Morgan quickly finds out that, despite promises to the contrary, the jobs said to be provided by the Muskrat Falls Generating Station project fail to materialize by 2012, and none of the local electrical contractors are hiring greenhorns... or at least, not hiring Morgan. After quitting (or being let go from) a series of increasingly worse service industry jobs and desperate for a change of scenery, Morgan taps every last red cent of their credit to move to Victoria BC, reasoning the increase in cost of living would be offset by the availability of more and better jobs.

As if granting their wish directly, the BC Provincial Government begins a pilot project to provide remuneration to civilians who have been injured or lost property as a result of 'cape' activity. Morgan is, at first, excited to join the public service, working for 'the people' instead of some CEO's bottom line. That starry-eyed drive quickly dimmed once they realized they were very little more than a glorified fax machine, taking data off of documents, putting them in a computer, and then sending them into one of two stacks: further processing, and rejection.

2021 is when Morgan first makes contact with The Korps, saved from collateral damage by Dr. Niamh Maddison in the course of securing Prototype 63110 (see lab file ‘Project: Hockey-Fight’ for further information) - Dr. Maddison is initially fascinated by Morgan because something about their neurology made them immune to the 'ignore me' suggestions put out by their RCG's 'incognito mode'.

Morgan was on-boarded following an informal interview with Dr. Niamh Maddison. While Dr. Maddison is not registered as a psychological evaluator, her “judge of character” is generally well-regarded by her local Korps administration, and after some brief background cross-referencing, Morgan's recruitment was approved. At that time, Morgan had no powers or abilities to speak of, but Dr. Maddison found their general demeanour to be a good fit with the broader Korps 'culture'. That having being said, Dr. Maddison wanted to move forward with Project Maelstrom and thought Morgan would make an ideal first candidate. With the promise of being “whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted it”, Morgan agreed to the experimental procedure in short order.

Because Maddison had elected to jump ahead of certain internal procedures, the experiment on Morgan wasn't strictly sanctioned by The Korps, and so took place off-site. Which is how Morgan ended up captured by an embittered and embarassed PHL agent (see case file: Downdraft) and ended up remanded into the custody of Apogee Recruitment Solutions. Born of the same proverbial DNA that created the BC-ERS, Apogee claimed to specialize in turning super-powered juvenile delinquents into potential PHL recruits and, lacking any concrete way of determining who Morgan was, or even how old they were, took them in anyway.

Morgan then discovered what Apogee actually did was throw a lot of psychologically stressed-out young adults into a proverbial crab-bucket, let them try to kill each other, and record everything they do. That data was then built into a computer algorithm for training police drones to detain capes, for sale to jurisdictions that couldn't / wouldn't deal with the PHL or Aurora Squadron directly. To make matters worse, Apogee employed the services of Mr. Aloysius Coleman, a telepath of mediocre capability and self-professed 'psychic surgeon', to periodically 'reset' the memories of the inmates. Owing to the crudeness of Mr. Coleman's technique and the unwillingness of the subject, this treatment had an especially catastrophic effect on Morgan, fragmenting their entire long-term memory to a potentially permanent degree. Thankfully, Maddison had the foresight to leave the prototype 'low-profile' RCG unit with Morgan, providing them with a feature-limited client-side kernel of the Korps' ROSE Digital Assistant. With ROSE's help, as well as several of their fellow inmates, Morgan orchestrated a major jailbreak of the Apogee facility, and managed to interfere with its director (see case file: Gabriel Sinclair) until such time as senior Korps agents could arrive to contain the scene.

Naturally, any reservations Morgan had about their aptitude quietly evaporated after that, and they're only too happy to do whatever the Korps asks of them, even if they weren't providing the stable environment and mental resources Morgan had been longing for since childhood.
