I don't know what the original story you intended was, but when I see this, the story that writes itself in my head that this was a mishap with Wanda's TF machine, turning someone into a mareep instead of an ampharos, and they need to evolve to do that, but first they're going to have to get over their natural instinct to just chill in the field and eat grass... It doesn't look like they'll be evolving or turning back anytime soon.
I know, that's why I said it, lol
But yeah, I really like the concept of the Pokemon TF machine. It's similar to a story I wrote notes for a couple years back where Bill keeps experimenting with his Pokemon TF machine that he accidentally makes in the first game, but something about the way you're spinning it feels really fresh to me.
I especially like the idea of humans who get turned into Pokemon in what's supposed to be a temporary situation slowly warming up to the idea of living as pokémon full time, and that variant Tux was posting about where the eyes change from human to pokémon as they get used to it.
At some point I'm going to post a story about that on Mastodon.
