this world and all that is beautiful is dying, murdered in slow motion. not even deliberately but due to complete incompetence. middle aged teenagers like elon and tim epic making everyone else deal with their crises in masculinity. it's all completely fucking pathetic.
that's the biggest insult. I'm so tired. what a rotten year.
the only solace i take from this stuff is that the people who actually work to make that stuff still exist and still want the same things i do, but it's getting ever more difficult to drive forward with that knowledge when most of the people around me don't really care. people will continue to use spotify, to buy twitter blue, etc. it's been a really difficult year for not being kinda fatalist about things.
I truly believe this year has been the biggest cultural shift towards outright fascism I have seen in my lifetime.
my wife and i caught covid pretty much exactly when the obliteration of gaza began and watching the media/world's reaction to it made me feel like i had died and have been in a horrible nightmare haze since because it's been impossible to reason with people being that unimaginably cruel
epic recently sold bandcamp to songtradr and laid off 50% of it's workforce in the process
The strong union push recently has been heartening to a degree, but all the other shit flowing in the opposite direction has on average canceled out those positive feelings.
