which makes iOS all the more frustrating sometimes
saaaame. you can pry my iphone se 2016 from my cold dead hands, and i’ll be sad when ios 16 comes out and i can’t update.
that said, a few of those complaints can be fixed!
Three half-solutions that work for me, but may or may not work for you:
Strangely, iOS does have the ability to let you pre-silence an alarm... but just one. If you set up your morning alarm via the sleep schedule in the health app, a new alarm will be added to the top of the alarms app, and that one will ask you if you'd like it to silence itself if you use your phone before it goes off.
For password management, I like having Firefox Lockwise. That'll let you use all your Firefox passwords in all your non-firefox apps, but that's not without caveats either (the biggest of which: passwords are only added automatically via desktop Firefox).
The iPhone SE still has TouchID instead of FaceID, even on the 2022 model, but it unfortunately hasn't been available in the mini form factor since 2016.
There's one thing I can offer that's definitely helpful though! The field for naming alarms is in-between the repeat schedule and the alarm sound selector when editing the alarm.
Is lockwise still available for new users? I thought mozilla discontinued it and moved all the functionality into the password manager that ships with Firefox iOS (which fwiw you can add passwords to it on mobile but only in firefox)
Oh weird, it looks like you’re right, it’s not on the App Store anymore!
is there a version of firefox nightly for ios? that's what i have on android to use userscripts among other addons
its unbelievably frustrating that nothing is documented.
like did you know you can "almost-long-press" and drag a link out before the modal with the link preview appears? this lets you pick up the link without loading the contents, and while youre holding it you can use another hand to switch to an app to where you want to drop the link- so i could copy this post for example and drag it into notes or messages, which also means i can see the link before i hit send.
i've had ios devices since the ipod touch and continuously been an iphone user since 2015 and i have no idea when they added this or how they expect people to find out about it
