I've been reading a lot lately, a perk of being unemployed, here's some of what ive read.

Some Books I have Read Lately

  • Mirror Empire by Kameron Hurley - im actually on the third book of this series, the worldbreaker saga, at the moment. I'm a big fan of all of Hurley's work that ive read (these, the bel dame apocrypha books, and The Stars are Legion they are all both dire and compelling.
  • The Mimicking of Known Successes by Malka Older - this was really cozy
  • Unsouled and all of the subsequent books in Will Wight's Cradle series. These are candy, easy to blast through. Paced like a shounen battle manga. Or maybe shounen battle manga are paced like what this is paced like (wuxia/xianxia inspired, as i understand it). The author put the ebooks up for free thats cool.
  • Furious Heaven by Kate Elliott - the follow to Unconquerable Sun, great space opera stuff. Love it
  • Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire ♀ Volume 08 this is the eight volume in the Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire ♀ series of light novels
  • Witch King by Martha Wells - always here for Wells, this is a fun new series. lots of good descriptions of clothing
  • This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladston - this is like the 4th time ive read this but its really good
  • The Killing Moon and The Shadowed Sun by NK Jemisin - really neat duology. I think the first one is solid and the second one is excellent
  • The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch - scifi, kinda scifi-horror, also mystery, lotta fun.
