OOH!
There's a lot of things I want to comment on
And yeah Servant's ability being able to be done every night would be ridiculously overpowered actually, a good change. Like if Servant and Mage figured out who each other were in the old version they'd be invincible.
Something I noticed is that the Clairvoyant seems to be basically useless in a Monokuma game, because the purpose of the Clairvoyant, to help the town figure out what kind of Demon they are (not) up against is useless against Monokuma who is uh, very noticeable already. I do think that the experience of the Monokuma demon in the game outweighs that however (more on that later).
The Council Leader's ability is actually pretty interesting, I like it.
Trickster is interesting, you have to pretend to be evil or else it becomes a lot harder to figure out who the demon is. Not everyone who is obviously suspicious is actually evil, and that allows for a bit more uncertainty that was the intention behind Despair's Last Stand, I like it!
The Mercenary is interesting actually, they must affect the demon and minion game quite a bit, how long do you keep them around for, how to avoid them figuring it out, how do you know for certain that you are actually a mercenary this game? It adds a level of suspicion and distrust even amongst the "evil" team and I quite like it. Even in games when the mercenary isn't around it gives the minions something to think about, to worry about, to dread, that one day it'll turn out they weren't minions after all. this fits very well with the themes and so I really like it!!!
Ogre and Nurse go so well together it is amazing.
High Roller is interesting, almost a lower-level Enoshima. Their presence or merely the possibility of their existence encourages the town to hide their roles even in death, further adding to the atmosphere of distrust and paranoia.
The Nurse's effects on the game are interesting, as it seems to encourage executing anyone on the stand for fear they could be a Nurse, of course something that only benefits the evil side as reasoning is thrown out. Or you could simply not fall into that trap, but then you have to ask, is your ability really working as well as it used to?
THE ANTHROPOLOGIST
ruehuirthrueithauit
okay so
first off
That quote is genuinely the BEST fitting quote you could have possibly used for this role. i can't communicate how much I love this lol.
Secondly the entire purpose of the Anthropologist, to poison, is really really good for this setting. You can't ever fully trust the information you learn or from others, for what if the Anthropologist changed things around? well not as effective as the High Roller and Mercenary in terms of just mere existence causing really cool effects, the quote by itself made it my favourite role lol
Okay so the best part so far: The Demons
So Enoshima is extremely cool because it contributes to the objectives of encouraging distrust and concealing information. Junko wins by being able to successfully analyze the situation correctly and guess the roles of everyone in the town. This is amazing. I'm not sure how to describe it fully but since Enoshima could possibly be the Demon this game, it's best to try to avoid giving them information, and that means hiding it from everyone. This is very fun!
Kamukura Kamukura Kamukura!
rghuierghueitg
This is such a fun concept. so the minions have to work around thier demon, and instead do everything themselves. This is so cool! And of course similar to the mercenary the possibility of Kamukura being the demon means that any Town or Outsider must question if the Demon they have been looking for has actually been them all along. There's just so many layers to it, both inside an actual Kamukura game and even outside of it that it's just so cool cannot say this enough ihfgrueighueihuigh
Shirogane basically puts the Town on a pretty hard limit, the Demon knows who everyone is and will target accordingly. while not as "cool" as the first two Shirogane is definitely an extremely major threat with thier meta knowledge.
finally, MONOKUMA
So Monokuma is a very interesting Demon. They take away a lot of the uncertainty of the other roles, town don't have to worry about being Kamukura, or that saying all thier roles result in a game over, however, you have to deal with a player openly evil just having no reason to not completely mess with you the entire time. There is SO MUCH you can do in a Monokuma game I am actually just stimming thinking about it. Gods that would be so fun to play. Like it actually encourages the Demon to act Monokuma like this is actually amazing lol.
Anyways, overall most of the roles that really interested me were the Demons, Minions, and Outsiders as I feel like they have the most contributions to creating an atmosphere of distrust and paranoia, of even having to question yourself, but the Townsfolk roles are all pretty cool too!
