the best part is it really WAS a shader compilation error, not an intentional joke. I was working on translucent surface rendering, which involved multipass rendering into some intermediate targets, and one of the early passes failed to compile but the specular and compositing shaders didn't, resulting in Shaded Shader Error

it looks very physical! that's really cool. if you hadn't said it's a bug we would have stared at it for a long time trying to be sure
