Ever since I was young I've had similar kinds of dreams.
These types of dreams always involve labyrinthine places. Diablo-style treks into the earth. These spaces always have a sort of 'ecology'. They live, they breathe, they have their own logic. They have facets of real life. Frequently there is a malevolent force within them. The sort of malevolence and the sort of force depends. Maybe its a mastermind deep in the center. Maybe something is invading and disrupting the balance of things. Maybe its an adversary competing with me to find something important. The force isn't necessarily evil, but it is a constant presence. These worlds always have a narrative, always have something propelling themselves and my journey through it.

And always they feel like a real universe unto themselves. Understanding that most of these spaces, produced within that they are, simply vanish due to the brain's way of book-keeping is very sad to me and also a constant reminder that mortality is real. But.. they're valuable to me. As long as I'm paying attention.

Could be these types of dreams are very common, but I do think it's responsible for my obsession with RPGs and fantasy. And visa-versa.

Void Stranger just has that vibe. Its a huge otherworldly thing. It's alive, its a place. I want to sink in its world and hold it, value it, and never let go. While there is a sort of malevolence woven through the dungeon itself, it should be clear it is a game that wants you to play it and progress. It also has characters and lore to support it. There is a bit of brightness and love. Those moments exist in my dreams too.

I haven't finished it yet.
