So after four days of work (and a huge amount of gil; you do not want to know how much I spent here), at last I have a cozy little home in Empyreum. Since I can only upload four images into a single post, I'll have to do this in installments. Anyway, here's a quick walk through the place along with an explanation of my thought process along the way:
My starting point was to take heavy inspiration from this video as a starting point but overhaul it pretty extensively to make it my own. I initially didn't intend to use so much Hingan furniture, but during my experimentation I found a lot of it just worked better for what I was trying to do, so I ultimately decided to lean a bit in that direction, combining that flavor with a large number of plants for comfy atmosphere.
The centerpiece feature is of course the window wall, which makes the whole room feel more open and airy and I love how bright it makes things. Strategically-placed lanterns help to hide a couple flickering seams where the windows overlap. By the entrance is a big fireplace that largely stays out of view but fills the corner nicely, while there's plenty of room for a nice sitting area that I did largely copy straight from the video (what can I say? It works), but tweaked to better fit the different floor layout. I think the blue shelf unit in the back corner really ties it all together, as it both picks up on the black partitions on the opposite side of the room and helps to add a splash of contrasting color to the browns of the corner and provide a visual point of interest.
