I'm watching some old commercials and promos tonight, and I found this Kids WB promo for Pokemon where it's like "you can choose which Pokemon we'll show on TV in a promo! Go online and answer our questions on our website :D"

And this question

Why a CRYSTAL Onyx??? Did they realize no kid's favorite Pokemon is Onyx so they had to make him cooler????

Onyx wasn't my FAVE but I did really like him! And the Crystal Onyx blew my little mind at the time, IIRC it predated shinies

There's a part of me that's still a little miffed that Onix's shiny isn't bright blue. Same goes for Butterfree's not being pink.
