How many times in the series does this happen:
Galactic Federation: "Yay, Metroids! We'll study these highly dangerous lifeforms FOR SCIENCE!!! I'm sure nothing can possibly go wrong with our cunning plan!"
[Later]
Galactic Federation: [Shocked Pikachu Face] "Uhhhhh yo Samus hey you're never gonna believe this...funny, you'd expect we'd acquire some pattern recognition skills after the first fifty times this happened but look we're gonna need you to bail us and the galaxy out of our own hubris and neutralize the Metroid threat.
...again."
Because I feel like something like this is the setup to, like, every Metroid game beginning with Super.
