I got fed up with windows' weird ui scaling on my 13 inch laptop, tried switching the resolution to 1600x900 and forgot I even did it until I had to watch a tutorial video recorded in 1080p with text too tiny to read
there's too many pixels now imo we should go back to like 1024x768
I think 4k is good when you have a big screen and you use it for a big desktop, and not much else.
This is going to sound like overkill, but I have a 43 inch monitor on my desk. Tbh though, it's just like having a couple of monitors, only without the gap. I've got lots of space to spread windows out, and it makes sense to use 4k because I'm close enough to make out the pixels.
But when we play a game or watch a film or whatever, I'm sitting further back, and 4k does very little over 1080. I can tell the difference, but if I'm playing a game and I switch from 1080 to 4k while sitting a couple of metres back, it makes no difference except to make my 4 year old grahics card chug a bit harder.
i am a 55 inch 4k tv haver and the size of the display is exactly why i wanted that much resolution. you see, after the pandemic started i missed going to movie theaters so bad that i tried my best to emulate the experience from my bedroom. it's been completely worth it in terms of pursuing exactly that end but when i use it as my daily driver for windows i definitely am very aware that i'm only using like 2/3s of the display at best. i'm pretty comfortable with this though. anyway have a pic of my desktop
OP, do you type your posts as titles because you can’t see them on your giant display or
"im not owned! im not owned!!", i continue to insist as my posts slowly grow and transform into the top line of an eye exam chart
