I'll also promote utilizing the tools available to you: following, locking comments, locking shares, silencing, blocking, silencing posts, silencing tags, and locking down pages to logged in users or private.

• you can lock comments and shares before publishing by saving as draft and then clicking the three dots in the top-right of your post
• silence a post (prevent it from re-appearing in your dashboard) by clicking the three dots in the top-right of a post
• manage the list of pages you silenced and blocked on your page settings
• manage the list of tags and posts you silenced on your account settings

Tagging gets a post into people's bookmarked tags. Sharing gets a post into people's timelines. And that all helps me find them!

Ultimately, this won't scale well and is a stop-gap until we get built-in self-organizing opt-in "webrings".
