In Hearth's Pantheon, you collect memories from ghosts and Guardians (the gods of the island) and record them in this cute and beat-up notebook (which obv belongs to Maya, one of the four protags). Rewatch the memories at your leisure. Each memory is a short story snippet plus one or more animated images. The images often provide clues on where to go next, or secrets to find! The Big Memories belong to Guardians and the Little Memories belong to little ghosts, appropriately. Ghosts and gods alike don't remember much, so the game centers upon piecing together the story of Hearth Island before the berserk gods destroy the place!

How could they not appreciate doodles, that's like the second best thing you can do with a piece of paper (origami rocks)
