I loved the beginning of that game, I did not care for the middle and ending. Felt like it lost some of what made it special.
you know, I thought about it and I really have to agree! As much as I love the different card games packed into this one game, I almost feel like it tried to do... too much? I enjoyed the more restrained and driven experience of Leshy's cabin for sure.
Ya, exactly. They expanded and extended the game by build on their incredibly well thought out card game, but that wasn't ever the most intriguing thing to me, so it felt wasted.
Maybe it's because I've played so many tick based card games and they all use very similar mechanics, but they just don't do that much for me anymore. I'm willing to put up with them if there's a good story or mechanics, but don't really relish in them like I used to when they were newer or fresher for me.
