hate this "uwu you're valid" trope that pops in and out of memory because i'm the master of catastrophizing. what this means is that i can think of any excuse, any reason to discredit you even when there's direct evidence that i'm wrong staring me in the face. it's where my mind goes first.
- "you're valid" other people have it worse than me and this effort should go towards them instead
- "you're valid" no i'm not
- "i felt the exact same way and you're valid" and yet you're more mature in this aspect than I am and that means there's some flaw with me that you didn't have
- "you're valid" i stepped on a bumble bee in third grade on purpose
it's become a meme more than it's helpful
unspoken caveat it's unhelpful for me
