Fun fact: "get in the robot Shinji or Rei will have to do it again" isn't actually from the Evangelion anime. It's from the manga, where Rei tries to take on the Angel before Shinji gets to Nerv, and she promptly eats pavement. In the anime she's wrecked for a different reason.
