Man, Voltaire's plan to make sure magic changed was never gonna work, was it?
- As per Q&A #8, Voltaire didn't actually know that simply being aware of the second hidden purpose of Seers would have disqualified Tedd. In other words, his information about the whole process was incomplete, even if he was ahead of the game just by knowing that the process existed. Imagine what else he might have not known about!
- He thought there were circumstances under which Tedd freaking Verres would end up "frothing with hate". Like yeah Tedd is sensitive, but they're a problem-solver; they didn't even let their shock about Pandora hold them back for very long, let alone fly into a rage. Projecting much, Volty?
- Not that anyone in-universe knows this outside of the non-canon bits, but: he's a character in a webcomic which is in part defined by wacky-transformation-shenanigans
and written by someone who really doesn't like bad stuff happening to the characters. Dan Shive is never gonna write anything that decreases the number of story options, nor are anyone's existing toys gonna get taken away.
... I mean, his plan to get rid of Pandora in order to get the other Immortals to change their rules basically went way better than he expected, but. The humans' proverbial toychest will still have knives, and there's pretty much a 100% chance they're gonna turn out to be way sharper than he expected.
