I know that Half-Life 2 is old enough to drink in America, but I have to say that the Breencast from the beginning of Anticitizen One where he's like "some have been calling me a collaborator (deliberately misinterprets what that means)" completely lives up to the premise that the uprising has been going on for a week and change.
Like, City 17 is on day seven or eight of a rebellion which Breen seems to have never seriously expected to happen in the first place, his previous messages have had no effect whatsoever on his enemies, and he is running the fuck out of things to say. He uses the phrase "the universal union that small minds call 'The Combine'" as if he himself hadn't called them that in a message to his own soldiers in Nova Prospekt. Somehow the quality of his Breencast messages are below Earth's crust, when they were already in the realm of "no one in the past 20 years has been able to tell him 'dude your propaganda broadcasts suck Gonarch balls' without getting executed or turned into a Stalker."
I bet when he started getting reports that Gordon Freeman was back from eeby deeby, a part of him was like "oh thank god, now I actually have something to talk about."
