It's always great seeing an adaptation of something you like, and just in the first few minutes/pages, or just from the cover or the opening credits, you immediately know, like. exactly how much you're going to be re-experiencing The Suffering. Foreknowledge about the events of the original, combined with the fact that the adaptation has changed enough details that you can't perfectly anticipate exactly how it's going to shake out, turn seemingly-innocuous scenes into All The Suspense. The liveblogging could reasonably just consist of "oh shit. ..... oh shit. .... oh shit. ........ oh shit --"
