Last night I had a dream about some kind of game I was making where I was worried that it would resemble Bayonetta too much, but I figured I could mess with some of the details to make it work.

Then the dream turned into this HLVRAI thing, where Gordon had to do this lengthy jumping-puzzle over these damaged and segmented bridges, and the slightest contact with water was an insta-kill and he had to load his last save. Doctor Coomer was hollering nonsense through the whole thing, and Gordon was doing very well until like the very end of the sequence, when he kept repeatedly dying to this barely-visible puddle and loading a save from like two seconds earlier. During those two seconds, Doctor Coomer (Holly was evidently obliging with the conceit of loading a save file by repeating the lines) kept yelling "AIR SUPPORT! AIR SUPPORT!" until finally Gordon finished the sequence, and Coomer was going "AIR SUPPORT! AM I CAUGHT IN ANOTHER TIME LOOP!?" (because of course Coomer would interpret saving and loading the game like that and make an inexplicable offhand reference to it being "another" one) "Wait, why am I saying 'air support'?"

The dream briefly had a flashback to the effect that at the beginning of the game, it was "narrated" that in the event of dying and reloading, the NPCs forgetting everything after the save point "cannot be guaranteed".
