it's not even funny, what started as a silly thing for doing memes (at least, that's how I found out about AI generators), now it's being used for people who wants to create and own the "art" they create (characters, scenes, backgrounds, etc.) without realizing that, well, you can't.
you could try but... legally, you can NOT be the owner (the copyright holder) of that creation because you are using a software that uses copyrighted images from authors who didn't give their consent for that use. So, you could be sued and you 1) will lose a lot of money (for the trial and the compensation to the original author) and 2) won't win.
and i'm sad bc... a couple of weeks ago I found out the creator of an amazing visual novel, who recently got a funded kickstarter, is... using... Stable Diffusion and... I don't know how to tell them that they can't get in serious trouble if they are planning a commercial game with those images.
I'm pretty sure they already know but they are really keen on using that software so... sigh
