I didn't realize before how many mental cycles I spend on most social media sites calculating the potential social impact of liking a post or following someone.

the way i feel about this site reminds me of the old twitter thing "this website is free," but reversed. for twitter, free=worthless. for cohost, it feels free like a public park or a neighborhood, in that it's supported by taxes lol (cohost plus in the framing of this metaphor)

was browsing itch and found riley rethal's poem "sing it again" that mashes up hadestown and pbta games.

check it out here if you want good good synthesis of fan work and gameplay references. it tickled my brain and gave me a new pathway to the same feeling the musical gave me.

it reminded me of those conversations going around recently about the specific place games have in making fan work and adapting stories.
