Yeah "2000 dB" is a reasonable number for something being really loud
Principal investigator at an undeserving midwestern university. I am ill-tempered and well-endowed. Beware.

in case anyone is actually curious — i'm certain decay and micolithe already know this — an increase of 20 dB is equivalent to a tenfold increase in amplitude and a hundredfold increase in power. 194 dB is considered the maximum physically possible on earth. 2000 dB would disintegrate every particle in the known universe [citation needed]
Yeah, one of the things I enjoy about using dB for electronic amplifiers is that, like, 20dB = respectable sensor preconditioning, 60dB = number notch filter designers use to say "it's really good", and 200dB = congratulations on your break-through particle accelerator technology, we can finally quit messing around with tokamaks and just smash hydrogen together electrostatically
