Serious question: does anyone wear perfume or cologne anymore? Do you wear a scent or scents? If so, what do you wear? Do you have a perfume that's particularly 'you'? And what does it mean to you (the mental associations, the memories, the vibe)? Including scent from lotion, body wash, etc. Substituting your character for yourself in this inquiry is welcome.

I tend not to wear scents like perfume directly, mostly because I spend 75% of my life standing in front of a fume hood that blasts air past me at an accelerated rate, and no one would ever smell it anyhow. And/or, it'd get overpowered by other more potent odors of what I'm working with.

That being said, I do ensure that my shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, and deodorant have a unified scent theming - I tend to lean toward vanilla. I like to have a hint of that on me, at least, if I'm not in the lab.

Canonically speaking, Phorm smells of vanilla. After becoming a genie, the scent vanilla has a note of strawberry in the mix (Yes, I am a dork).

I guess! I don't have much experience with that sort of thing. I have a hard time smelling a lot of more pleasant smells, so it's hard to actually know what works. Oh, and I guess my soap is lavender too but I'm not even sure it has a scent. >->;

I don't wear perfumes but I really like body wash and moisturizer and stuff that smells like cocoa and shea! It smells really good and earthy nutty chocolatey and I feel soft and calm hhh. I really enjoy showers when I can smell this good. Before I was using store brand body wash that didn't smell like anything and it was just fine, but the extra money for fancier hygiene stuff that smells good is worth it

no perfume but im crazy about soaps and shampoos that smell fruity and tropical.
current set:

  • murumuru and rose shampoo
  • ylang ylang and coconut oil conditioner
  • wasabi pear and shea butter soap
  • peach face wash

if anything i hope it doesn't come off as overwhelming but i think the end result isn't too strong

EDIT: the lore is that i like fruit and things that smell like fruit and i hate the smell of like. aftershave and cologne. i want to have a pleasant aura

I've never been a cologne person because my dad doused himself in it growing-up. And it's worse now with his diminished sense of smell. So I always associate it with a kind of territoriality.

But I do love a good shave cream scent. Something that's light enough just to cling. There's an ersatz Old Spice I like quite a bit and a vanilla with a tinge of bourbon that smells the way a good barber shop would. And they go for distinguished over masculine, which I always appreciate.
