very curious what the experience is like going backwards. i only watched prometheus and covenant after at least four viewings of the original and just could not stand either of those movies
i liked both the “prequels” but I’m also prone to like unnecessary lore. are they heavy handed? yeah…….. do they sometimes feel like
Fan fiction? yeah kinda. but i just think Alien is a movie of a different caliber. If I had seen it first I’d probably absolutely have a “don’t touch that!!!” feeling towards pro/AC so i think chronological order just makes you ride or die for the franchise lmao
that being said alien might be my favorite movie of all time now it’s SO good i can’t believe i never got around to it until now
also: there’s a cut of the Prometheus script where the engineer tells David that the engineers literally made Jesus Christ and were so mad that the humans killed him that they put the whole plot of that movie into motion and THAT’S the type of stupid background lore I live for.
SEE THIS I LOVE. it needed to go completely wild with this kind of bullshit and if it did i would have cherished it.
