It's kinda surreal that we're only, like, six months away from LOC finally being allowed to screen their print of The Day the Clown Cried. Are we prepared for society to actually witness this as a real movie that actually exists and not some kind of mythic object we imagine for ourselves

One of the stipulations in Jerry Lewis's donation agreement back in 2015 was that even though he was donating a print then, it wasn't to be screened before June 2024.
Oh I guess I should expand on that. It's an infamous unfinished movie by Jerry Lewis, which he was so embarrassed by he kept anyone from seeing the one print he had for decades https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_the_Clown_Cried
This is one of my great regrets about moving away from DC. I would spend days in line.
