Playdate recommendation: at the Vancouver Game Garden, I got to try out Grimoire, a fun little minesweeper variant. The main twist is that the info you get isn't binary "number of mines" nearby, but something a little more complex - each tile has a hidden number from 0 to 2, and the visible numbers tell you the sums of the hidden numbers on adjacent tiles. It took me a bit to get my head around, but once I did I've gotten really into it.

Yeah, this one caught my eye when I was browsing the vancouver game garden site a few days ago! It's weird, I feel like I was able to figure out a foolproof strategy that lets me do perfect solves seemingly every time, but then I still struggle to actually spot the opportunities to execute it sometimes, and the wires have crossed in my brain a few times and still I found myself stepping on mines that I should have known were there. definitely scratches that minesweeper itch in a novel way.
