Wait do they make you use an avatar now? I switched to an index like a month ago and it had just been a pleasant abstract void before then.
yeah you inhabit the avatar in the home space now and it's extremely distracting and horrible
An important thing about the body presence in the Quest home area is that if you hold your controller upside down, as I often do when I've just picked them up off the desk, the inverse kinematics bends the arm holding it in this entirely horrific inhuman way trying to make that pose make sense
Yeah I just moved my spawnpoint as far away from the mirror as I can. Maybe I could place an object in front of it? Not sure if you have that much freedom in the Quest loading screen
there's no mirror in the space I've got set, but I see the horrible shiny-looking hands
I’ve never used VR or VRChat before- why do you have to use a meta avatar by default? Is it mandatory with like meta VR hardware or something? (Or did meta buy VRChat at some point?)
on the Quest you boot into the Quest's UI and it has you inhabit your Meta Quest avatar initially. Then you boot up the actual thing you want to use and it's no longer present. I am grateful to say they have not bought VRChat lmao.
Oooh that sucks regarding the hardware :( Yeah, glad they haven’t scooped up VRChat at least tho!
table is not technically accurate, the group i hang around with regularly has folks who are between one inch and hundreds of feet tall
yeah I don't think there's an actual height limit in vrchat other than its kind of Impractical to socialize if you were like a mile tall
if you’re too tall it’s hard for you to be heard or for you to hear others, as your voice is not adjusted for height
that is quite frustrating that you can't opt out of using meta avatars on the quest Hardware
