For awhile at the end of last year, I had to go to a specialist for some really nasty dental stuff. But as it turns out, the office was a reasonable walk to one of my fave record stores that has a Canadian jazz section. So I made myself a deal: every time I had to go to that specialist, I'd treat myself to something from the Canadian jazz section.
This is one of my finds from last month, from a Vancouver fusion jazz band who were active in the 80s. Some really fun stuff here; that opening track especially hooked me right away.
