it’s called a paradox cause a guy once accidentally contradicted his own socks out of existence. he named the phenomenon “pair of socks” but due to a typo (S key is next to D key on a qwerty keyboard) and his accent when saying it aloud, the phrase evolved into the word “paradox” as we know it today
