calling half-life a boomer shooter is incredibly weird to me considering its the deliberate opposite of nearly every shooter prior, to the point of being seen as revolutionary. then again, i suppose that's more the term itself being silly, despite it being a handy nickname. i guess it just means "old fps"

ive been going over the Spyro OSTs and it blows my MIND that the first game's soundtrack is generally considered the weakest. every youtube review ive ever watched calls it unmemorable or indistinct and, idk, maybe it's because i grew up with alot of prog rock but Spyro 1's music is easily my favourite nowadays. there's less gimmicky sample use compared to 2 and is more consistent in tone than 3, which gives it a much stronger identity. i'd even argue for 1's OST being the best album experience when removed of context.

... yeah okay Stewart overuses that organ a tad but it's a cool organ

you listen to this bit from Cliff Town and tell me it isn't a catchy-ass bop. just you try, i dare you.
