I was waiting for this! The article is a Japanese transgender perspective on how the remake handles Vivian's gender, comparing and contrasting with the original release's script to show the thought put into being considerate about LGBTQIA+ issues without alienating old fans by diverging too hard from the 2004 version's story.

The author お茶缶 (ochakan) notes that while Vivian's sisters still do not recognize her as a "sister", the writing never explicitly refers to Vivian as a "boy" anymore, refraining from forcibly outing her to the player. Instead, Vivian's gender identity is only textually revealed when she herself comes out to Mario on her own volition. The author believes the remake elegantly maintains Vivian's transness from the original setting while taking care to represent gender identity in a much kinder way.

It's a good read! I recommend checking it out if you know Japanese.
