I think part of my enjoyment of SF6 is because, despite being of the more "new school" of fighting game design, at least, atop it's simple base, has some insane systems that very very much scream "Adapt or Die". Like even their attitude of liek "Yeah these systems are supposed to be uncomfortable. We dont teven think you all have caught up to the dev team yet" whether or not that's true or not is like... just refreshing, idk

I generally feel like a lot of the common complaints I'm hearing about SF6 are from people who don't like how strong the system mechanics make certain characters off of one touch, and are insisting that Capcom has to nerf them or will nerf them because Ken is too strong and JP is too busted or Zangief is too weak or Ryu is too weak or Jamie can't fight Guile at all, and I can't help but think "we're not even six months in yet, we don't know nearly as much about this game as y'all think we do".

that, and also "y'all don't understand how much Capcom is going to just do what they want to do. we gotta buckle up. ain't seen nothing yet".

I love that they said 'yeah probably no balance changes for awhile" like even if they do a little tuneup at some point, it's important that people hold that and try and learn. Like even if everyone turns out to be right, we gonna ACTUALLY see it happen and be a problem too.

Like I bet Drive Parry will be too strong over the life of the game, but it's not a problem until it's a problem.
