in reply to @doodlemancy's post:

Not only is this is absolutely adorable (BotW/TotK Zelda is best Zelda, can't wait for her to infodump to me while I read ๐Ÿ’•), but it also indirectly made me finally crack open my copy of Hyrule Historia because I somehow never realized that's where they put all the concept art that I expected to be in Art & Artifacts

OHHHHH FELLOW CONCEPT ART APPRECIATOR. i have a quest to add to your Purah Pad. after you have emptied the Historia of concept art, definitely also head over to historyofhyrule.com and their flickr page which has EVEN MORE STUFF that did not make it into that set of books. there are some illustrations of Japan-only novelizations and stuff and it rules. just a fun place to dig!!

Oh wow, that does rule!! I wish more things had well-documented illustrations and concept art like that, it's always so cool to see the evolution of designs (both during development and as a series progresses)!

Also WOO YEAH CONCEPT ART ENJOYERS UNITE!!! I swear, like half of my weekly sketchbook submissions back in high school art class were reference sheets for OCs and redesigns of existing characters, largely inspired by how much I've always enjoyed concept art from games :yeah:
