facts that, when combined, make all of the "AI" bullshit Super Extra Annoying To Me Personally

  1. back when digital art was a lot newer, a certain kind of piss-brained fartface artist would go around declaring it Lesser because it was supposedly "easier to make". meanwhile the laypeople were like... "oh it's on a computer so the computer just does it for you. you didn't draw that, the computer did." just the kind of Wrong where it's like... i don't know where to start with you so i'm just going to walk away

  2. due to the above, artists joked bitterly together for a long time about the nonexistent "make art" button in Photoshop

  3. now the internet is full of software that exists to Make The "Art" For You, trained on the work of thousands of uncredited artists (and i'd bet you a fuck of a lot of those artists already had to put up with the aforementioned Piss Brained Fartfaces/painfully ignorant laypeople)

  4. one of AI bros' favorite talking points is "but people freaked out about digital art at first!!! you're just Afraid of what you Don't Understand" (i do in fact understand it; i just hate it and think it sucks)

  5. Photoshop actually added the fucking "Make Art" button lmao god. fucking hell

  6. oh and now non-artists are very excited that they can become "artists" by telling a computer to draw things for them. when i showed people my digital art in 2004 i had "just saved it off the computer" but now when some asshole types "big titty cyberpunk lady trending on artstation" into a prompt they are an Artist, Using A Tool, lol, lol, lol
