so last week my insurer denied coverage for my ADHD meds for no reason, and when i confronted them, they lied to me and said everything was fine and nothing had ever been denied. i figured out where in the various Patient Portals i could extract proof of what actually happened. it was "reprocessed," otherwise known as "initially denied until someone called them on their bullshit".
i still don't have my meds, because the wrongful denial wasted a bunch of time and the pharmacy ran out of them while my insurance shit was in limbo. so, basically, it is 100% on my insurer that this is happening, and this has been a pattern with them. every few months they try to deny me for no reason, it usually just doesn't cause this big an interruption. they're a CCO that has to answer to the Oregon Health Plan, so i have a higher authority to complain to. the denial has been resolved. but it will not be forgiven. this stupidity is going to have a ripple effect on my life for a while and i'm not going to let it go. i don't know if i can do any meaningful damage to anyone about this, but damned if i'm not going to try.
