problem: i am working on a small Ren'py game to learn Ren'py things i don't know. my hand is too fucked rn to justify drawing sprites for something that's Just For Practice

practical solution: get on itch.io or something and find a free character sprite

FUN solution: make a vroid, pose her in VRM Posing Desktop, tadaaaaa it's a sprite. i won't get attached. it's not like i'm exactly the kind of sap who would get attached to an old eraser if i drew a smiley face on it

new problem: now i have to actually make my proof-of-concept potion shop game actually at least kind of good, or at least get it to a point where it can reach a happy ending for the sake of my beautiful perfect starry-eyed daughter whomst i love and would kill or die for. look at her. i'd be a monster if i didn't try

anyway i guess pro tip, Vroid + VRM Posing Desktop is a decent way to make simple sprites for ren'py games; save your camera angle settings for ease of use
