You and your friend Elly are finally going to WitchCon, for sure this year! There's just one problem... you're both totally broke witches, and it's going to take at least 4000G to pay for the tickets. (And transportation. And an inn room. And food.) Not to worry, though, Elly has a plan: set up shop outside the local dungeon and sell healing potions to passing adventurers. Through hard work, patience, and friendship, surely a couple of scrappy spellcasters like yourselves can turn 100 gold into enough cash to buy your tickets!

ADVANCED FEATURES

โœฆ highly realistic shop simulation gameplay
โœฆ at least two characters. maybe even three
โœฆ achievements
โœฆ multiple endings
โœฆ unlockable image gallery
โœฆ sometimes you type something on your keyboard
โœฆ ELLY! we love her
โœฆ some reviewers say it made them cry a little
โœฆ theres a egg in it
โœฆ (looks at notes scrawled by 90s game exec i have preserved in a tank of green goo in my basement) blast processing?

made with @nex3's grid generator

โœจ you can download it from itch.io!

this game is free and also adorable and also not easy

what I'm saying is that I let Elly down on my first playthrough and although she's alright in the end I still need to hug her

update: beat it on the second run! the trick is

spoilerdon't be afraid to overstock! each potion costs only 4.5G to make and sells for 10G, so you only need to sell 45% of your stock to break even. with this in mind, just make the max number of potions whenever the monsters are bloodthirsty, and if you have some wastage, that's much better than missing potential sales

This was a very cute game and I enjoyed playing it! However, several achievements seem to not stick. (I've gotten Broke Witch/Warrior/Strategist several times, and they don't stay unlocked. No Worlds Left to Conquer also didn't trigger though I did the endings A2->C->D->A1->B.)

others have been reporting this same problem and i'm hoping to fix it in future builds, sorry about that! the 10k achievement is also all-but-impossible due to some last-minute balance changes i made and then did not consider the implications of dlskfjghfdsjsd i'm an artist not a mathematician... btw which version were you playing? windows/mac/linux?

anyway THANK YOU SO MUCH-A FOR TO PLAYING MY GAME... i'm glad you had fun!!!! ;v;

i made a Known Issues devlog on itch i tried to link (which included the currently-impossible-to-unlock-secret) but itch seems to have? thrown it? into the void? i'll fix things when i have time later today aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I played the Windows version. And yeah, to get the 10K, you basically need to save/load on the shopping screen to trigger the Bloodthirsty every day, and win the 50-50 to get a full sellout more often than not, because all 86% sales will leave you at around 7500-8000 on day 22.

(I left you a tip in your ko-fi too! Thanks for the game!)

Okay, testing it, if you have an Aggressive Day, but it still sells 100%, you get double money. (I'm suspecting the accidental double is tied to Aggressive, as I don't believe I've ever triggered it for Sleepy or Bloodthirsty) So it's save-loading for max sales on Aggressive or Bloodthirsty.

(Rich Witch also doesn't stick)

Due to this bug, you can hit over 4000 on Day 5, and assuming you max every day and get the double profit bug every day, you'll cap out at around 28000+. (In this testing run I just did, I broke 10K by day 14 due to the double profit bug.)

Without the bug, you'll hit over 10K on day 21, assuming 100% sales every single day.

I appreciate the little secret!

AAAAAAAAA thank you so much for this extra data-- i'm getting started on bugfixing tonight and it helped me isolate what was causing the double payout a lot faster. basically, i had come back to aggressive days to add a layer of complexity to them at some point, and i was copy-pasting some of my math from elsewhere and the line that determines your payout got a sneaky double in there specifically for aggressive/sold-out days!!

i'm puttin 'you in the credits for the next version LMAOOOO

in reply to @pervocracy's post:

I think the theoretical maximum profit if you sold 100 potions every day is 550x21=11,550

(Though you can't afford 100 sets of supplies the first few days, but if you can get there by Day 3 you can still hit 10k)

but it's either impossible or very improbable to sell 100 potions on sleepy monster days, so I don't think it's really doable. Maybe if there's some possibility of selling 100 every day, then it can be done with perfect luck, but I don't think you can get to 10k with ideal strategy but average luck
