I was raking leaves to compost some and mulch my garden before the rain and wind take them all away, and I noticed my little sunflower is almost ready to bloom. I had a bunch of leftover assorted and mystery seeds that I dumped into an impromptu cinderblock planter. This was in like, mid september? I didn't expect anything to really grow or even germinate much, but now i have calendulas, nasturtiums, and sunflowers growing. The sunflower is so close to opening up! And it has about 48 hours before a hard freeze comes ๐ญ
Anyway that's how I ended up petting a sunflower and telling it I'm really proud of it and that it should use all its effort to open the flower soon
