in all seriousness if you're using doordash and you come across a restaurant you've never heard of, you need to:

  1. click on the "more information" link and see the address on the map.
  2. search that address on google maps
  3. oh it's an applebees and there's no such restaurant as "the horny pasta slut"

Perfect example. Macaroni Man does not exist. It is not real. Some poor line cook in the back of a Pizza place is making off-menu mac and cheese so that someone else who understands how technology works can skim some money off the top.

Finding out that Travis Kalanick (the uber guy) is behind a lot of these is both depressing and makes a huge amount of sense.

shit like this is exactly why i will never use a food delivery service unless the company making the food also handles their own deliveries. (pizza, basically. lol)

The weirdest thing is that there's some that are honest about it. Like. Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings doesn't pretend it's not an imprint of Chuck E Cheese with stuff that travels okay. Heck, it's named after a character that's been part of the brand since 1977. I'm fine with that, it's just setting expectations that the menus are a little different... so what's with the weird ones that are dishonest?
