Hi folks, I'm J.Y. I'm a hobbyist tabletop game designer, currently unemployed. Anarchist, Buddhist, cis, male, Singaporean, Chinese, disabled.
I have lots of interests, but come chat with me if you like wuxia, cape comics, other forms of heroic fantasy, tokusatsu, and my current gaming obsessions: Street Fighter 6, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and the Kirby series.

GAME JAM SUBMISSIONS
- Commons Rider: A neofeudal cyberpunk game based on a stripped-down version of the Conflict System. Draws heavily from Ishinomori Shotaro's Kamen Rider stories. A submission for the Cyberpunk by Asian Creators Jam.
- The Joyride Everlasting: A submission for the Emotional Mecha Game Jam. Inspired by Exalted and Heaven Will Be Mine. Play as the Princes, Princesses, and Princeps of the Earth who set aside their privileges and responsibilities for a single night to steal your giant robot and show your prospective lover a good time.
- Saber's Light, Sword's Shadow (刀光剑影): A quick 2-page wuxia game about composing four-word idoms to resolve dramatic tensions. Based on the idea of Chengyu (成語), traditional Chinese idioms composed of four words each. A submission for the Asian Martial Arts by Asian Creators Game Jam
OTHER PROJECTS I'M PROUD OF
- FAMILY + SPY (家 + 谍) [with apologies to Tetsuya Endo]: A hack of Lasers and Feelings based on the espionage comedy comic Spy X Family by Endo Tetsuya. Wild intrigue, hair-raising adventure, familial entanglements, and dealing with the consequences of deceiving those you love.
- Who Watched The Watchmen? Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt: I was invited to write for The Comic Book Herald, specifically for their retrospective on the impact of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's 'Watchmen' on the greater culture. My piece studied Kieron Gillen's map of the way through and out the post-'Watchmen' world, 'Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt (2019)', published by Dynamite Entertainment.
(updated because i forgot the article that i wrote for the comic book herald)
