idk if it's entirely fair to hand wave Rouge the Bat's entire deal as misogynistic or whatever, but god damn all of her SA2 stages being bar none the worst in the entire game sure feels like a hate crime of some sort

i have this feeling in my gut that the dark stages were developed later, which is why we also have a severe lack of shadow stages
oops replied to this with my booby blog, my point still stands tho
yep! from my understanding, originally sonic/knuckles/eggman were originally the only 3 playable characters, and shadow/tails/rouge were added later into development, and i may be wrong, but i believe outside of a few, a lot of their levels were made much later (which would also explain why shadow in particular has like. 4 levels. none of which have "original" assets or theming)

huh, the SA1 Knuckles stages were some of my favourites, but fair enough! tbf i did have a mod installed that made emerald tracking much less tedious ehehe
