gonna actually have to put in the legwork to set roots down other places again i think. i don't plan on actually Leaving cohost to be clear, but all indicators point towards a very burnt out staff quietly shuttering the website in the next 4-8 months and i'd like to be at least a little prepared this time for having to take my luggage to the next website
on top of that i can say pretty definitively that despite a pretty substantial uptick in the number of eyes on me (for better and for worse) that hasn't actually translated into much in terms of my business at all. i was getting similar viewership numbers off my 87 follower tumblr blog compared to my 300 or so following here, and other creators have expressed similar sentiments - "gaining traction" just isn't something that happens here in the way you'd expect or want it to.
as for why it doesn't happen, i'm not quite sure. someone a lot smarter than me is probably required to pin down the reasons why cohost doesn't work especially well as A Platform despite actually having a pretty reasonably sized and active userbase. either way, putting every single one of my eggs into this basket is simply not a viable long-term plan for stability, and i'm gonna be working on getting more locations up and running in the next week or two here.
