So, I've been reading a lot of trans girl novellas recently - you might know the type, trans girl doesn't realize she's a girl, extraordinary circumstances happen, and bam! Trans girl. And I've been playing through the Final Fantasy 7... levels in pressure washer simulator.

I promise I'm going somewhere with this.

So, I know Cloud is our golden girl for "this character should have been trans", but Reeve - remember, the Shinra civil engineering guy who ends up being the one controlling Cait Sith? No? Okay. Well, he features prominently in the pressure washer levels and has a lot to say about how he wants to build a better world and how he's coming to realize that Shinra might be kind of evil. He's quiet, bullied by his colleagues for not being aggressive enough, has a lot of hangups about his position, and when told to infiltrate the player party he immediately says "I'm going go be a robotic cat".

I'm just saying, I think Reeve might make for an excellent last-minute-turnaround catgirl

This feels vaguely familiar, but I couldn't say why. But yeah, Reeve absolutely has the feel of someone who doesn't feel comfortable in their own body.
