I mentioned it here earlier but I picked up an extremely old, ~11 year old fanfiction I started writing, and started working on it again... it's pretty close to 300k words (the vast overwhelming majority of which were written between the years of 2012-2014) and is still some distance from being done. it just suddenly became weirdly important for me to come back to it even though the last time I made any meaningful work on it was probably in 2014

it has never been publicly posted--i find the fandom is typically pretty vile, and the characters I wrote about are subject of pretty heated arguments (possibly better described as pointless bad faith mud-slinging between people with no critical thinking skills, but I digress). wrote it when I was Going Through Some Shit so it's weirdly personal to me despite ultimately being a dumb fanfic about a viddygame
reaching a point where I'm like, maybe I should post it? with some encouragement from a friend. I've read little fanfic from this fandom (most of what I read was from the livejournal days as that's where this fandom largely lived, and has vanished or otherwise become difficult to find over time) and none about these characters in particular (because I find other people's interpretations don't fit well with mine lol so I gave up looking), and it's also one of the only pieces of writing I have ever made meaningful work on that hasn't been lost to time/misfortune. idk if it's even any good, though I reread it all these years later and thought hey, I don't hate this at all, it might be decent (miracles)
so yeah. I'm slowly building up to posting my massive cringe fanfic somewhere. if I do there will be update notices posted here as I update since this is the only social media I really frequent these days... though I genuinely don't know who the fuck would read this thing. it's 100% sfw for the record. it's just huge and caters to me and me only, because it was never written with the intention that anyone else would ever read it
but there's uh 57 chapters of buffer in the tank. it's split into two docs bc word 2007 was behaving strangely once it hit a certain size. so. yeah. lol. send post
