put on one of those “how i beat [game challenge]” type videos for background noise, but the guy refers to his videos as “content” he “created” so often i had to close it. hating these terms more and more with each passing day. you entertained us with some challenge runs or whatever dude, have a little confidence that you aren’t just making slop for the masses. you can thank capitalism for devaluing the human presence behind how we try to connect with each other.

it just homogenizes everything. it's boring. just makes you a cog in the machine, doesn't say anything about what you made. making shit is human. you make videos about games you like and stream game challenges/game related goofing off with a pal. I write a fanfic for people who wish persona 4 was nicer to some of the characters it ostensibly frames as queer. "content creator" bothers me in the same way self-deprecation does these days. have some pride in your work even if it's weird, niche, or amateurish, it'll make it that much more appealing
