ok so i try not to be judgmental about anyone's taste in music. like i listen to music that i have often been told sucks a whole lot of ass my whole life (wide variety of heavy metal, incl. some "extreme" genres that i recognize can be difficult to listen to). the older generation hates newer music, etc etc

but every time someone at work puts on the radio on and i hear what's popular in the current year i'm like damn.......... what is this. lmao. like i know theres still GREAT music coming out modern day but boy i tell you. it's not on the radio!!

There have been quite a few artists I've liked, looked up their stuff, and found MUCH better songs of theirs that were never on the radio. Standard radio just wants to be as bland and inoffensive as possible between its 20 minute ad breaks so grandma doesn't change the channel. It's not being a snob, it's having taste beyond generic, safe marketability.

Especially if it calls itself "soft rock," which has not updated its playlists since 1998 except to add some Michael Buble.
